On the 30th of September 2021, Waterloo Lodge School hosted its first Open Day.

The doors opened to welcome parents and carers into the school. Staff and students put on an array of demonstrations and displays for the visitors, including a raffle and cake sale. Proceeds of which will be awarded to the school’s chosen charity: Derian House Children’s Hospice at the end of the academic year. So far this academic year we have raised £170 for our chosen charity.

Derian House supported by Waterloo Lodge School as the chosen charity of our pupils.

The visitors had the opportunity to talk to the Head Teacher, Mrs Rigby, take a tour around the school, including the new sensory room and nurture suites. Watched experiments in the Science Lab, viewed the highly impressive Art exhibition, enjoyed freshly cooked pizzas in Food Technology and learnt some tips and techniques from the school’s psychotherapists.

The positive feedback received from the visitors was overwhelming and the Open Day was a resounding success. The staff and pupils at Waterloo Lodge School cannot wait to open their doors again in the not so distance future.
