At Waterloo Lodge, safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility. We are committed to providing a safe, caring and supportive environment where pupils feel protected, valued and able to learn and thrive.
We support pupils by:
- Providing a safe, nurturing and positive school environment.
- Promoting emotional wellbeing, confidence and self-esteem.
- Encouraging pupils to communicate their views, feelings and concerns.
- Fostering positive relationships and mutual respect.
- Preventing bullying, discrimination and harassment.
- Promoting equality, diversity and inclusion in line with the Equality Act 2010.
- Ensuring all staff receive appropriate safeguarding and child protection training and ensuring they are aware of safeguarding procedures in school.
- Working closely with families and external agencies to support pupils’ safety and wellbeing.
- Maintaining robust procedures for reporting, recording and responding to safeguarding concerns.
All staff, volunteers and visitors are expected to behave in a manner that safeguards and promotes the welfare of our pupils. Any safeguarding concerns must be reported immediately to the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL).
