On the last day of Spring 1 Half Term, Miss Bennett, PE Teacher, arranged to bring in her two baby lambs; Harriet and Hugo as part of Form time enrichment.
The beautiful baby lambs, who were only four weeks old, settled down under the watchful eye of Mrs Rigby, Head Teacher, in their crate in her office – the smells were delightful!
Form WLS 5 learned how to bottle feed the lambs and how to look after them on Miss Bennett’s farm. The pupils totally enjoyed the experience and being able to work with the lambs and learning about husbandry (farming of animals). The whole staff team at WLS also thoroughly enjoyed cuddles and bottle feeding Harriet and Hugo too!!
To end the day, the Caretaker, Mr Hilton, brought five of his nine week old Labrador puppies in too, who also joined Mrs Rigby in her office!
The puppies, when not asleep, enjoyed lots of cuddles and running round the office and totally ignored Harriet and Hugo. It was a lovely, happy end to the half term.
