Home News & Events Key Stage 3 Students Make Their Mark in Creative Printmaking Workshop
Key Stage 3 students developed their creative confidence by learning a new skill during a printmaking workshop. This process encouraged pupils to explore mark-making, texture and composition in a hands-on and experimental way.
Students began by applying ink to a printing surface, using a range of tools to draw, scrape and layer their designs. They then transferred their image onto paper, discovering the excitement and unpredictability of a single, unique print.

The printmaking workshop allowed students to think creatively and take risks, as no two outcomes were the same. Pupils learned to adapt their ideas as they worked, responding thoughtfully to unexpected results.
The workshop supported the development of fine motor skills, visual literacy and problem-solving, while reinforcing key artistic concepts such as tone, contrast and pattern.
Through reflection and discussion, students evaluated their work and considered how artists use printmaking as a means of expressive communication.
