Home News & Events Waterloo Lodge School Open Day April 2026
Waterloo Lodge School recently hosted a highly successful Open Day, welcoming parents, carers, prospective families, local neighbours and the Mayor and Mayoress of Chorley into our vibrant school community.

The day provided a fantastic opportunity for visitors to experience the warm, inclusive atmosphere that defines life at Waterloo Lodge School and to see first-hand the engaging learning opportunities available to our pupils.
Children were actively involved in a wide range of enjoyable and purposeful activities throughout the day. These included creating animal shapes from healthy crudités, exploring sensory writing experiences, taking part in outdoor play, and tackling exciting maths challenges. The activities showcased the creativity, curiosity and enthusiasm of our pupils, as well as our commitment to hands-on, meaningful learning. The school’s sensory room was open for visitors to explore, giving families insight into how we support pupils’ sensory needs in a calm and nurturing environment. Visitors also experienced sessions in the immersive room, where interactive visuals and sounds were used to enrich learning and engagement.

We were especially honoured to be joined by the Mayor of Chorley, Councillor Alistair Moorwood, and the Mayoress, Jane Moorwood, who presented members of the School Council and Eco Council with a certificate in recognition of their outstanding community outreach and charity work across Chorley. It was a proud moment for our pupils and staff, celebrating the positive contributions our school makes beyond the classroom.
The Open Day was a wonderful celebration of learning, community partnership and achievement.
